Five durum wheat cultivars and lines were used as the parents. Ten crosses were made by hand-pollination by using a half-diallel cross from parents which had been sown in October 1988. F1 seeds were sown with their parents in October 1989. In July 1990, data were recorded and showed that heterosis in plant height, number of spikes/plant and grain yield/plant was negative; however, the other traits were generally positive.
