Soil samples from five benchmark soil series of the Indian Punjab: Fatehpur, Samana, Tulewal, Kanjli and Lodhowal, were used to investigate their K release characteristics in 1M ammonium acetate, 1M ammonium chloride and 0.1M calcium chloride. These samples contained a wide range of ammonium acetate extractable K.
