One of the most mentioned problems associated with low agricultural output and low adoption of improved agricultural technologies in developing countries is the lack of farmers' involvement in the research and extension processes. Linkages between researchers, extension staff and farmers, if any at all, are usually supply-driven rather than based on the actual needs of farmers.
