In a field trial on sandy loam soil at Bapatla, Andhra Pradesh, the residual effects on yield of groundnuts grown in the monsoon of 1986 were studied of 0-6 t rice straw/ha and 0-60 kg P2O5/ha applied to a winter groundnut crop in 1985/86 and 50 kg N + 30 kg P2O5 + 30 kg K2O/ha, double these rates or no fertilizer applied to the following crop of maize during summer 1986.
