Rice (Oryza sativa) weed control with soil applications of quinclorac

Field trials were conducted from 1988 to 1990 on a Sharkey clay soil near Stoneville to evaluate residual weed control in rice Lemont with quinclorac applied pre-plant incorporated (PPI), pre-em. (PRE) to dry soil and PRE to moist soil. Quinclorac applied at 0.4 or 0.6 kg/ha PPI or PRE to dry or moist soil controlled Echinochloa crus-galli, Ipomoea lacunosa and Sesbania exaltata by >80%, without resulting in rice injury.
