Rotary veneer peeling of softwoods. III. Sugi and akamatsu wood

Bulletin of the Forestry and Forest Products Research Institute, Ibaraki ( 361): 17-35

Data are tabulated for the relations between the quality of sugi (Cryptomeria japonica) and akamatsu (Pinus densiflora) logs, veneer quality (knots, depth of lathe checks, variation in thickness, roughness of veneer surface) and peeling conditions (e.g. peeling length, presence of back-up rollers or roller discs).
