Rumen degradation and post-rumen digestion of two samples of maize gluten feed in dairy cows

Rumen degradation and post-rumen digestion of 2 samples of maize gluten feed were studied in sacco using 4 cows. Samples differed in the ratio of maize bran and maize solubles and contained crude protein 148 and 185 g/kg DM, respectively, for the low and high protein gluten feed. In vitro digestibility of the samples was higher than the values in the Dutch Feedstuff Table (CVB, 1991).
