Whole casein from individual cows was separated into beta -casein, kappa -casein, alpha s1-casein and alpha s2-casein fractions using isoelectric focusing (IEF), and cation-exchange and anion-exchange fast protein liquid chromatography (FPLC). beta -Casein A1, Asuperscript 2 and B, and kappa -casein A and B were all separated using IEF. beta -Casein A1, Asuperscript 2 and B were separated using cation-exchange FPLC, and kappa -casein A and B were separated with anion-exchange FPLC.
