Studies on the expression of the seed storage proteins napin and cruciferin from Brassica napus

Studies on the expression of the seed storage proteins napin and cruciferin from Brassica napus

Studies on the expression of the seed storage proteins napin and cruciferin from Brassica napus: 36 + 100 pp.

In B. napus the most prevalent seed proteins are two storage proteins, the 2S albumin napin and the 12S globulin cruciferin. Both napin and cruciferin are expressed in the axis and cotyledons of the seed embryo during the cotyledon elongation stage of seed development. It was shown that distinct nuclear proteins from B. napus interacted with five oligonucleotide probes containing sequences from the napin gene napA promoter and 3' sequences, as shown by gel retardation assays.
