Studies on the genetic control of alkaloid content in white lupin (Lupinus albus L.)

Studies on the genetic control of alkaloid content in white lupin (Lupinus albus L.)

Buletinul Universitatii de Stiinte Agricole Cluj Napoca Seria Agricultura si Horticultura 46(1): 33-39

In a study of hybrids derived from a half-diallel set of crosses involving 3 bitter and 3 sweet varieties, alkaloid content was conditioned by the additive effect of polygenes influenced in their expression by allelic and non-allelic interactions and environmental effects. Dominant alleles acted towards increasing alkaloid content, the dominance effect being significant.
