Study of increased variability in spring wheat induced by temperature stress

In pot trials in 1990-92, spring wheat Jara was subjected to temperatures typical of night time in Jan (1-2 degrees C) (cold treatment) or sown early, or heat stress (12 h at 30 degrees C in a growth chamber). Temperature stress reduced most measured morphological variables in the plants subjected to stress but had no effect on the progeny of those plants.
