Study of the use of molinate, thiobencarb and cage wheel to control red rice (Oryza sativa L.) in the rice (Oryza sativa L.) fields of the Ebro delta

Pre-sowing measures for red rice control in water-sown rice on various sandy and clayey soils were compared. Molinate at 6.7 kg/ha (incorporated) and thiobencarb at 6.7 kg (sprayed) gave, resp., 16.98 and 22% selective control. Both treatments together gave 40.18% control. When thiobencarb was preceded by cage wheel treatment, red rice control rose to 89.68%, but injury to the rice crop was severe on sandy soils.
