The calculation of bagasse fuel supply and potential surplus for a sugar factory

The calculation of bagasse fuel supply and potential surplus for a sugar factory

Proceedings of the 15th conference of the Australian Society of Sugar Cane Technologists, Cairns, Queensland, 27-30 April 1993: 101-107

Historically, the sugar factory should operate ideally with no disposal of bagasse and no consumption of extraneous fuel. However, the energy balance of the sugar factory is now becoming more important as the provision of surplus steam to associated factories or the provision of surplus bagasse to byproduct factories is being considered. This paper describes the capabilities and limitations of a bagasse production and consumption model for calculating bagasse surpluses.
