The capacity of clayey soil to supply P and K as affected by adding organic manure

The capacity of clayey soil to supply P and K as affected by adding organic manure

Assiut Journal of Agricultural Sciences 23(4): 171-185

In pot experiments with lucerne (Medicago sativa) and ryegrass (Lolium) in a clayey soil, organic manure (OM) increased dry matter yield and P uptake by both plants and increased the P supplying capacity of the soil. Adding increasing rates of P decreased the effect of OM on P uptake. OM increased K uptake by both plants and slightly increased lucerne yield but had no effect on yield of ryegrass. OM increased K supply from exchangeable soil K.
