The effects of dietary factors and genotype on performances and carcass quality of broiler chickens

The effects of dietary factors and genotype on performances and carcass quality of broiler chickens

Revue de l' Agriculture 44(2): 221-236

1800 broilers from a commercial strain of fowls (line C) and a line selected for feed conversion (line L) were compared, as well as a further 4 groups of the commercial fowls given diets varying in protein and amino acid levels and 2 groups that had been subjected to undernutrition from 6 to 11 days of age. The effect of a change in protein level for the last 3 weeks of the 6-week experiment (phase feeding) was also studied.
