The effects of indole acetic acid (IAA), indole butyric acid (IBA) and naphthalene acetic acid (NAA) on the growth of Taaghiyaat date palm (Phoenix dactylifera L.)

The effects of indole acetic acid (IAA), indole butyric acid (IBA) and naphthalene acetic acid (NAA) on the growth of Taaghiyaat date palm (Phoenix dactylifera L.)

Acta Horticulturae ( 321): 326-333

On 22 Apr., date Taaghiyaat offshoots, weighing about 15 kg, were stripped of their lower leaves and cleaned and their bases were injected with IAA or IBA at 50 or 100 p.p.m. or with NAA at 50 p.p.m. The offshoots were planted in holes in a sandy soil and covered with sacks to protect them from wind and direct sunlight. One year after treatment, the best rooting response was observed in the NAA treatments.
