The quality characters of sweet sorghum (Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench) genotypes as influenced by different nutrient levels

Sweet sorghum SSV-84, SSV-96, SSV-119 and Rio were grown at Dharwad, Karnataka in the 1988/89 kharif season at 4 NPK rates, and quality was assessed at 80, 100 and 120 d after sowing (DAS). Grain yield at 120 DAS was highest (mean 1.89 t/ha) at the highest fertilizer rate of 100 kg N + 60 kg P + 30 kg K/ha, and was higher in Rio than in the other 3 cultivars. Extractable juice concentration in the stem was highest (mean 34.9%) at 80 DAS.
