The relative susceptibility of five maize varieties to natural infestation with three insect pests at Zagazig Region, Egypt

The susceptibility of maize varieties (Pioneer, Pioneer-Karnak, Kahra-1, Giza-2 and Baladi) to infestation by Spodoptera littoralis, Agromyza parvicornis and Rhopalosiphum maidis was investigated in field experiments in Zagazig, Egypt, in 1989-90. Baladi was very susceptible to S. littoralis, while Kahira-1, Pioneer-Karnak and Pioneer were less susceptible. Pioneer-Karnak and Kahra-1 were very susceptible to A. parvicornis. Baladi was less so.
