The use of BOTANAL compared wtih other evaluation methods in natural pastures
Trials were conducted on native pasture on concave or convex slopes at Vicosa, Minas Gerais, Brazil in Apr.-May and Oct.-Nov. 1985. Botanical composition of swards in relation to 10 components was evaluated by 1 of 3 methods and DM yield of each component was determined directly, or indirectly, by visual estimation using the BOTANAL method (Tothill et al. Tropical Agronomy Technical Memorandum (1978) No. 8).
