, : The use of Duroc and Landrace pigs in commercial crossbreeding. Nauchno tekhnicheskii Byulleten' : 30-33

In the 1st of 2 experiments, 3 groups of Ukrainian White Steppe (UWS) sows were mated with UWS, Duroc and Landrace sows (25, 20 and 25 sows respectively). Litter size averaged 11.12+or-0.3, 10.5+or-0.4 and 10.74+or-0.3, litter weight at 2 months of age 175+or-7, 179.7+or-6 and 185.4+or-7 kg, and piglet survival rate to 2 months 83, 88 and 90%.
