The use of dried and powdered molasses in layer ration

Iranian Journal of Agricultural Sciences 23(1): 37-45

The use of dried and powdered molasses in layer ration

Dried and powdered molasses, derived from sugarbeet or sugarcane, were tested as feed ingredients for laying hens in a randomized experiment lasting 12 weeks in 1989. Assuming an estimated metabolizable energy of powdered molasses, 9 diets providing 2900 kcal/kg were formulated containing 0, 2..16% of dried molasses. Feed intake, egg number, egg weight and egg density were measured each week, and feed efficiencies were calculated as intake/kg of eggs and intake/dozen eggs.
