The use of fluorochromes in the cytogenetics of the small-grained cereals (Triticeae)

, : The use of fluorochromes in the cytogenetics of the small-grained cereals (Triticeae). Histochemical Journal 26(6): 471-479

The detection of nucleic acids in situ using fluorochromes, widely known as fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH), has proved useful in chromosome mapping and breeding programmes, with the assistance of flow cytometry for characterization and sorting of chromosomes.
