The use of agrochemicals in the arable sector in the Netherlands has to be reduced by 39% in 1995 and by 60% in the year 2000 with reference to 1984-88. The study describes the use of active substances on arable farms for 1989/90 (21 kg per ha) and 1990/91 (24 kg per ha). Software was developed which enables the recording of about 1600 registered chemicals as part of the data collected in the accounting network of the Agricultural Economics Institute (LEI).
