The vegetation carbon storage variation in Europe since 6000 BP: reconstruction from pollen
A method is described for reconstructing vegetation ecosystems from pollen data. Some 23 homogeneous ecosystem entities were characterized, each by 3 typical pollen spectra. The climatic signal in the pollen data was optimized by canonical correlation analysis.
