, : The water mites of the family Torrenticolidae Piersig, 1902 (Acari, Actinedida) in springs and running waters of Sicily (south Italy). Archiv fuer Hydrobiologie Supplement, 902: 253-282

Fifteen species of water mites of the family Torrenticolidae are catalogued from Sicily, Italy, with literature references on their distribution in the Mediterranean basin and remarks on their autecology. Pseudotorrenticola rhynchota, Torrenticola andrei, T. algeriensis and T. cf. lusitanica were found for the first time in Italy. The distributional patterns of the species in the various mountain ranges of the island are outlined and compared with other aquatic invertebrates.
