Journal of Research, Punjab Agricultural University 28(1): 117-122

ISSN/ISBN: 0048-6019

As a result of the Green Revolution, the Indian Punjab has experienced a rapid increase in income. Changes in the consumption pattern of Indian Punjab farmers are analysed over the period 1971/72 - 1980/81 to obtain estimates of the income elasticities of expenditure (demand) of 11 household items and 8 farm inputs. Information on income and expenditure on household and farm input items was obtained from family budgets and farm accounts sources.
