Use of levamisole bolus in the treatment of bovine gastrointestinal strongyloses in West Africa

Use of levamisole bolus in the treatment of bovine gastrointestinal strongyloses in West Africa

Revue de Medecine Veterinaire 144(1): 61-64

Levamisole was given in the form of a bolus (Bolumisole 3 N.D.; Laprovet) to 4 N'Dama and 6 Zebu cattle, 2-3 years old, while 7 N'Dama and 3 Zebu were untreated controls. Daily faecal egg counts were made using the McMaster technique. Egg counts remained constant for untreated animals, but decreased to 0 after 3 days in treated cattle.
