The effects of inoculation with Glomus sp. strain E3 and fertilization with a complex (NPK) fertilizer were assessed on the growth of the micropropagated kiwifruit Hayward. The plantlets were inoculated and the fertilizer was added when transplanting to a peat-based substrate. Fungal colonization of roots resulted from all treatments 80 d after inoculation. Fertilization did not affect percentage root colonization, which was increased with increase in inoculum rates.
