Virulence of local isolates of Rhizoctonia solani on bean (Phaseolus vulgaris) in the greenhouse

Of 12 R. solani isolates obtained from naturally infected P. vulgaris grown in different parts of Costa Rica and evaluated in 1988, isolate R4 was the most virulent, resulting in the lowest seed germination rate, shortest plants and the highest stem infection index.
