Yield and nutritive value of pangola grass (Digitaria decumbens Stent.) hay in four production systems

In field trials at Itapeotininga, Sao Paulo, Brazil, D. decumbens was cut (a) every 56 d (3 cuts/year), (b) every 84 d (2 cuts/year), (c) after 112 d, or (d) after 140 d. 270 kg ammonium sulphate/ha, 250 kg superphosphate and 110 kg potassium chloride were applied at the beginning of each growth period. DM yield and CP content were significantly higher in (a) than in the other systems.
