In field experiments on sandy loam soils during the kharif seasons of 1984-85 at New Delhi, soyabeans PK 327 were waterlogged for 24, 48, 72 or 120 h at seedling, pod filling or seedling + pod filling growth stages. Seed yields decreased with increase in waterlogging duration, particularly when the duration was extended beyond 48 h. Seed yield was more sensitive to waterlogging at the seedling than at the podfilling growth stage (2.88 vs. 2.99 t/ha).
