Zeon1, a member of a large retrotransposon family

, : Zeon1, a member of a large retrotransposon family. Maize Genetics Cooperation Newsletter ( 67): 94-95

A mitotic DNA rearrangement, recently identified at the 27 kDa zein locus of maize line A188, proved to consist of a homologous recombination between repeats of the duplicated S allele and a rearrangement at the 5' end caused by the insertion of a 7.3 kb element.
