Zinc, selenium and copper supplementation by means of reticulo-rumen pellets and its effect on the cellular and humoral immune response in sheep

, : Zinc, selenium and copper supplementation by means of reticulo-rumen pellets and its effect on the cellular and humoral immune response in sheep. Veterinarni Medicina 38(10): 597-607

Of 12 2-year-old ewes at the end of November, 3 were given an intraruminal pellet containing 3 g zinc, 3 a pellet containing 0.52 g selenium, and 3 a pellet containing 1.5 g copper. Blood changes in these elements were recorded 1-7 months after administration. Highest immunoglobulin levels were found 4-7 months after Se and Cu administration. There were insignificant changes in phagocytic activity, the phagocytic index and the migration inhibition test.
