Beta -Cyclodextrins delay germination of somatic embryos of carrot (Daucus carota L.)

, : Beta -Cyclodextrins delay germination of somatic embryos of carrot (Daucus carota L.). Comptes Rendus de l' Academie des Sciences Serie III, Sciences de la Vie 314(4): 171-177

Carrot cell suspensions, cultured in the presence of 2,4-D at 2 micro M in the light at 25 degrees C, were exposed to different concentrations of beta -cyclodextrin in the form of the commercial product, Kleptose, hydroxypropyl- beta -cyclodextrin or an insoluble polymer of beta -cyclodextrin. All products exhibited a small inhibition of growth, but significantly delayed embryo formation.
