'Fantasy Seedless': a new black seedless grape

, : 'Fantasy Seedless': a new black seedless grape. HortScience 30(1): 152-153

Resulting from 4 generations of hybridization starting with the parental Vitis vinifera varieties Damas Rose, Black Monukka, Red Malaga, Tafafihi Ahmer, Muscat of Alexandria and Sultanina, this mid-season variety (ripening in early August in Fresno) derives its seedlessness from Sultanina and Black Monukka. Yields of 1000-1500 boxes/ha were achieved in commercial production, compared with an average of 1750-2250 boxes/ha for Ribier.
