1-, 2- and 3-dimensional simulation of the water dynamics of agricultural sites using the physically based modeling system 'HILLFLOW'

Advances in water resources technology and management: Proceedings of the second European conference, Lisbon, Portugal, 14-18 June 1994: 77-84
1-, 2- and 3-dimensional simulation of the water dynamics of agricultural sites using the physically based modeling system 'HILLFLOW'
The physically-based modelling system HILLFLOW contains a number of submodels covering physical processes such as interception, evapotranspiration, infiltration, water dynamics in the soil matrix, interflow, and surface runoff. The significance of macropores for the infiltration process and lateral subsurface stormflow is emphasized. Infiltration modelling and non-capillary subsurface stormflow were based on the presence of a macropore system in the soil.
