, : 10th World Simmental Congress in Austria. Schweizer Fleckvieh ( 6): 16-22

In 1993, in Austria, there were 2 083 383 Simmental cattle, of which 207 691 were milk-recorded cows and 4181 were bull dams. The 305-day lactation yield of recorded cows averaged 5156 kg milk, 214 kg fat and 172 kg protein. Around 75% of cows were inseminated, 88.2% of cows calved, and the calving interval averaged 385 days. For 2220 performance-tested bulls, body weight at 478 days of age averaged 675 kg, and daily gain from birth to slaughter 1328 g.
