In 1993 in Switzerland, 4901 pigs were performance tested. For Swiss Edelschwein (SE) , Swiss Improved Landrace, Hampshire and Hampshire x SE pigs, daily gain on test averaged 905, 871, 846 and 992 g respectively, feed consumption per kg gain 2.54, 2.63, 2.8 and 2.43 kg, backfat thickness 2.0, 1.9, 2.3 and 2.2 cm, the percentage of prime carcass cuts 55.1, 54.7, 53.5 and 54.5%, the percentage of intramuscular fat 1.4, 1.23, 1.35 and 1.21%, and carcass quality score 3.78, 3.77, 3.81 and 3.97.
