30 years of trials of sown meadows in Grangeneuve

, : 30 years of trials of sown meadows in Grangeneuve. Agrarforschung 2(10): 461-464

Trends in yields of standard Swiss grass/legume mixtures given moderate N rates at Grangeneuve in 1972-89 are discussed. Despite the use of new improved cultivars, the yield of mixture SM 330 (Trifolium pratense, T. repens, Dactylis glomerata, Festuca pratensis, Phleum pratense and Lolium perenne) remained more or less constant and yields of 2 other mixtures tended to decrease. This is attributed to compensatory yield effects in mixtures and to increasing ozone pollution.
