A sideward lighting system using diffusive optical fibres for production of vigorous micropropagated plantlets

A side lighting system (SLS) using diffusive optical fibres was developed for increased energy and space efficiency and for the elimination of thermal radiation problems. Plantlets of potato were grown on MS medium containing 0 and 20 g/litre sucrose and subject to SLS or overhead lighting.
