Brassinolide-induced elongation of inner tissues of segments of squash (Cucurbita maxima Duch.) hypocotyls

Brassinolide-induced elongation of inner tissues of segments of squash (Cucurbita maxima Duch.) hypocotyls

Plant and Cell Physiology 35(7): 1103-1106

Brassinolide (BR) stimulated elongation of etiolated C. maxima Houkou-Aokawaamaguri hypocotyl segments with outer tissues removed, as well as that of unpeeled segments, while IAA had no effect on peeled segments. BR changed the mechanical properties of cell walls of the inner tissue.
