Comparative analysis of the allocation of Community funds to rural tourism in four European countries: Spain, France, Germany and the UK

The results are presented of a comparative study of credit allocated from EU structural funds to tourism development in rural areas of four European countries during the period 1989-93: France, Germany, Spain and the UK. For each country, the importance, concept and current situation regarding rural tourism are evaluated, and the objectives and priorities of rural tourism development policies are listed.
