Comparative ecological analysis of the chestnut stands of Extremadura and the Cantabrian/Asturias region (Spain)

Comparative ecological analysis of the chestnut stands of Extremadura and the Cantabrian/Asturias region (Spain)

Investigacion Agraria, Sistemas y Recursos Forestales 3(2): 111-124

Principal components analysis and discriminant analysis were used to study and compare the ecology of Castanea sativa stands in Extremadura, Cantabria and Asturias. The results show that the stands are located in zones with moist and temperate-warm climates, quite rich in silt and with moderate water retention capacity and organic matter content.
