Contract farming in the shadow of competitive markets: the experience of Kenyan horticulture

Living under contract: contract farming and agrarian transformation in sub Saharan Africa: 97-139

The chapter seeks to broaden the analysis of contract farming in Kenya by focusing on the emergence, structural characteristics, and performance of contract farming schemes in Kenya's horticultural export sector, one of the fastest growing sectors in the Kenyan economy over the past fifteen years.
