Demonstration experiments for improving sugar content in sugarbeet fields producing low sugar content roots. 3. On spot survey and demonstration in Tokachi District
Twenty nine fields in the Tokachi District were investigated for sugar content in sugarbeet roots. Fields with andosols, brown andosols and alluvial soils were all supplied with N over the recommended rate which led to heavy top growth and low root sugar content.
