Dermatomycosis in the population of Manizales


, : Dermatomycosis in the population of Manizales. Biomedica 14(2): 77-84

Of 1175 adult patients treated in Manizales, Colombia, during 1976-1992, 779 (66.3%) had a positive diagnosis of dermatomycoses. 72 patients (6.1%) had pityriasis versicolor (Malassezia furfur infection), 1 (0.1%) had tinea nigra palmaris, 291 (24.8%) had dermatophyte infections and 184 (15.7%) had superficial Candida infection.
