Description of the apple Selena

, : Description of the apple Selena. Vedecke Prace Ovocnarske ( 13): 141-143

This new variety, with resistance to scab was derived from the cross Britemac x Prima made at Rutgers University in the USA (New Jersey). The seeds were then sent to Holovousy in the Czech Republic, where the breeding work continued. The selected seedling, HL75-26-7, was accepted for state variety trials in Czechoslovakia in 1986. In 1990 it was named and registered. It is of the McIntosh type, with moderate to large fruit of a red to dark-red over colour on a cream ground colour.
