Desflurane in the dog; minimum alveolar concentration (MAC) alone and in combination with nitrous oxide

, : Desflurane in the dog; minimum alveolar concentration (MAC) alone and in combination with nitrous oxide. Journal of Veterinary Anaesthesia 21: 21-23

The minimum alveolar concentration (MAC) of desflurane was measured in 5 adult Beagle dogs using a supramaximal electrical stimulus. The value for MAC was 10.32 +or- 0.14 SEM % (range 9.83-10.6%). Addition of 50% nitrous oxide to the carrier gas lowered MAC to 7. 99 +or- 0.57% (range 6.7-9.13%).

The ribosomal protein S1, in Escherichia coli, is necessary for the recognition by the ribosome of the translation initiation codon of most messenger RNAs. It also participates in other functions. In particular, it stimulates the T4 endoribonucle...
