Design of a basin-wide quality monitoring network in Turkey

, : Design of a basin-wide quality monitoring network in Turkey. Advances in water resources technology and management: Proceedings of the second European conference, Lisbon, Portugal, 14-18 June 1994: 29-35

The development of a systematic water quality monitoring network for the Gediz river basin, Turkey is described. Current sampling practices in the basin were evaluated and modifications to the existing system were proposed. The location of the existing stations did not present an overall picture of the water quality conditions in the basin. Methods for site selection are considered. Site selection based on numbering of pollutant sources appeared to be the best method.
