Economic analysis of plant protection measures in kharif crops of Nimar zone

A survey of plant protection expenditure in Nimar zone, Madhya Pradesh state, India, in the 1991/92 kharif season indicated that farmers spend more on insect pest control than disease control. Total expenditure on pest and disease control in hybrid cotton was Rs 1461/ha to Rs 1896/ha. Expenditure on plant protection varied from Rs 851/ha to Rs 1119/ha for other cotton varieties.
